Families allowed to meet their detenues

SRINAGAR, Jan 28: Jammu and Kashmir, Prisons Department has on Thursday announced that 'Meeting Facility' will be resumed for all the families who want to meet their detained persons lodged in different jails of the UT of J&K.
The facility was earlier stopped due to the outbreak of COVID-19 virus. The prisons department in an order has decided to restore meeting facility in jails which as per the government guidelines was stopped as a precautionary measure to prevent spread of COVID-19.
The order issued by Directorate of Prisons, J&K mentions that that, inmates shall be allowed to have one interview/mulaqaat with their family members in a month and the number of family members shall be decided by the Superintendent Jail in accordance with the rules mentioned in the jail manual.
The Jail Superintendents, as per the order have been urged to necessarily follow COVID-19 SOP/Protocols and the family members also have been advised to carry COVID-19 negative test report of within 48 hours with them for meeting purposes.
