Severe cold wave intensifies in Kashmir

SRINAGAR, Jan 29: The severe cold has been recorded in the whole Kashmir valley and even the interiors of houses in and around were found frozen on Friday morning.
According to officials, last night's minimum temperature in Srinagar was recorded at minus 7.7 degrees Celsius. However, public figures say the temperature was much lower.
According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature in Qazigund was recorded at minus 10.8 degrees Celsius, minus 11.3 degrees Celsius in Gulmarg and minus 12 degrees Celsius in Pahalgam.
According to reports from across the country, the reservoirs are frozen and slippery roads make it difficult to walk.
It is worth to mention that the 40 days of severe cold, i.e. 'Chalai Kalan' is coming to an end but the severity of the cold has not decreased.
