The Home Ministry also on Monday extended temporary suspension of the Internet and Mobile services at three Delhi borders of Singhu, Tikri and Ghazipur till Tuesday night up to 11 PM. It also ordered Delhi Police to completely cordon off the roads from Uttar Pradesh to prevent entry of the agitating farmers.
On the blockade of the tweets, Twitter explained on its webside: "If we receive a properly scoped request from authorized entity, it may be necessary to withhold access to certain content in particular country."
The farmer leaders were agitated on Monday as they were not able to reach the media in the national capital to convey any messages as their KEM twitter and Facebook handles were not working and they were not able to use the mobile phones either. Some, however, travelled to a distance from the Singhu border to establish contacts, exposing the government itself blocking their contacts since after the PM wanted them to contact the Agriculture Minister and his officials.
